Police coach Abdallah Mubiru and midfielder Yusuf Ssozi are optimistic of progressing to the next round ahead of their clash with Gaddafi FC in the round of 32.

The Cops host the Jinja based side at the MTN Omondi stadium in the early kick off on the day before KCCA entertain Soltilo Bright Stars in another top tier clash.

Speaking to the media, Mubiru who guided the Cops to the semi-finals last season says he has been impressed with his players’ attitude in training.

“We have had good preparations and every player available is ready to give his best,” said Mubiru. “Our target is to go as far as possible in this competition and we shall do all to win the game,” he added.

Ssozi who was part of the side that lost to Vipers in the semi-finals last year believes playing at home means utilising the advantage.

“As players, we are ready to give all and get to the next stage,” said Ssozi. “Last season, we reached the semi-finals and we want to go a step further in this campaign,” he added.

The two sides have previously met in the league at this same venue with the Cops coming from behind twice to snatch a draw.
