The concern of sports facilities (amenities) in the country remains one of the key hindering factors to the swift development of games in the country.
A big fundamental brick has been contributed to the sports sub-sector infrastructural development by the Mary Queen of Martyrs, Mpala Parish after the church donated land for a vast sports field in Katabi Town Council, Wakiso District.
This sports field accommodates football, athletics, netball and volleyball sports disciplines under the parish’s youth apostolate sports development.

According to a leader in this youth apostolate sports department, George William Kakooza, the facilities are part and parcel of the long term set up and organization of the fields as youth project.
This sports field is after long-term set-up and organization of the games and sports grounds as a youth project for football, netball and volleyball. All negotiations shall be trough the Mpala youth sports Department with more details available via 0755849334 and 0789453369.

To this effect, the sports committee has set up the price for hiring this amenity for usage to interested parties at hand; individual persons, teams, schools, academies and corporate companies interested to use the facility.
Tournaments cost 20,000/=, football matches (20,000/=), league team games at 20,000/= per match, training sessions (20,000/= per day) and football galas at 100,000/= per day.
There will also be special considerations for footballs, nets, corner flags at 10,000 per day.
Sports fields in Katabi Town Council are very limited with the Kisubi Catholic Church Parish having the bulk of land for such facilities.
Others are available in schools and intuitions as Nkumba University, Kisubi Technical College, St Mary’s College Kisubi, Nkumba Primary School and well as a number of community grounds in Kabale (Tanda playground), Kisubi (Cardinal Community ground) and an astro turf at Namulanda, among others.
