Kepher Walubi may have been off the rally scene for some time now but he returns in high gear for the weekend rally.

The Kaliro EMC Rally takes place this weekend in the Eastern districts of Iganga and Kaliro.

That is Walubi’s home ground. The Mitsubishi Evo X driver is eager to pull all the stops as he contests for victory in his backyard.

“It is not always a good thing to have visitors who instead dominate your backyard. They have been doing it before, but this time round, I plan to do much more to claim the home glory.

“The last time we were in the East, I was so close but mechanical issues failed me. I will be more cautious at the same time go flat out to give them a challenge,” said Walubi.

Walubi returns to the national competition for the first time since the 2019 Jinja Rally.

He will share the Mitsubishi Evo X cockpit with George Semakula.

“I have not been competitive of recent. But that will not be a problem for as long as the car is in good condition and behaves on the weekend.

“Partnering with Semakula should be one sign that I am going for victory this weekend,” he asserts.
