The long anticipated Kampala derby between traditional rivals Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) and Sports Club Villa at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo lived to the billing although produced no goal at the end of the rainy afternoon.

The opening stanza, like the final 45 minutes failed to produce any goal.

KCCA left wide man Julius Poloto limped out with an injury at the end of the first half and was replaced by Rogers Mato.

Sports Club Villa holding midfielder Amir Kakomo was the first player to be cautioned by FIFA Referee Mashood Ssali for dangerous play.

Forward Isaac Ogwang replaced midfielder Ibrahim Juma Sadam, a former KCCA player on the hour mark.

The Jogoos ended with ten men after left back Joseph Kafumbe (formerly at KCCA) was sent off for a second bookable offence with 25 minutes to play.

Kafumbe’s first caution came on the hour mark for a rough challenge.

Moments after KCCA gained numerical advantage, left footed midfielder Arafat Usama was withdrawal for attacker Erisa Ssekisambu.

With less than 10 minutes to play, Goffin Oyirwoth replaced defender Gavin Kizito Mugweri for the Jogoos as KCCA introduced another attacker, Brian Aheebwa for pony-tailed defender John Revita.

SC Villa pushed on Ali Bayo for midfielder Nicholas Kabonge in the last change on the day.

Goal-less the contest ended with no clear cut winner between these two clubs this season.

Jogoo defender Fred Gift was named pilsner man of the match, earning a plaque and cash worth Shs. 100,000.

This stalemate was the 8th for KCCA in 20 matches as they get to 41 points, two behind leaders Vipers.

Sports Club Villa on the other hand played to their 8th draw that leaves them on 19 points (same as Soltilo Bright Stars), 12th on the 16 team log.

KCCA face Police in an all Lugogo affair this Tuesday, 15th March 2022.

On the subsequent day, Sports Club Villa shall host Jinja based Gaddafi at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.
