The Henry Kalungi Foundation continued its long tradition of giving back to the community just a day into the new year of 2023.
The team was led by country director Aidah Nabunya and co-founder Henry Kalungi as they donated kit and engaged youngsters in different sports activities.
Over 750 children are estimated to have turned up and early in the day, they were taken through their paces by a team of coaches at Buganda Road Primary School.
The children were later handed new pairs of shoes after Henry and his team washed their feet, in line with Bible Verses in John 13:1–17, where Jesus washed the feet of his disciples.
Talking up the day, Kalungi said; “We thank every individual who contributes to making this day successful. We donated kits, served meals and engaged the children in sports activities.
“As with @HenryKalungiFdn’s tradition every year, we are happy to have this one get concluded successfully. #WhereOurHeartsBelong“
Sumptuous meals were served by the volunteers as well, but also cake and drinks were served to the different individuals and children who turned up.
The foundation plans to go ahead with their trips to the rural areas as well, in a continuation of their work of supporting communities in need but also fostering the development of talent.
Henry Kalungi Foundation’s mission is to raise up generations in love, hope and purpose, through outreach, education, and empowerment to positively and sustainably impact the community.
