Proscovia Alako picked up her second player of the match award after her second successive player of the match award as she helped the Itanda Kayakers pick up their second win of the tournament.
Alako rode her luck enroute to scoring 76 off 40 balls as the Kayakers picked up a 10 wicket win against a helpless Bujjagali side.
Bujjagali won the toss and elected to bat first however, they failed to put on a meaningful total as Veronica Abuga (35) from Kenya was the only one who troubled the Itanda Kayakers bowlers.
The win came very easy for Itanda Kayakers just after 10 overs and a win that ensures that they stay in the hunt for a spot in the final on Sunday.
In the afternoon, Sipi Trekkers put a stop to the Itanda Kayakers’ winning run by inflicting defeat by 7 wickets.
The afternoon shower reduced the game to 12 overs each side with the Kayakers only posting 68 runs. It is the only failure for Proscovia Alako so far and without her runs, her side struggled to put on a decent total.
The Sipi Trekkers ensured that they would be no blip in pursuit of a small total as they timed their chase well to pick up their second win of the tournament and keep in touch with Itanda Kayakers who are firmly on top of the table.
The group action finishes tomorrow with Bujjagali Rafters having a chance of redemption when they have their doubleheader day. They will take on Sipi Trekkers in the morning and Itanda Kayakers in the afternoon.
