Bujjagali Rafters made both Sipi Trekkers and Itanda Kayakers wait with wins against each of them on their doubleheader day, the effort a little too late for them to sneak into the final.
Bujjagali Rafters needed two big wins for them to sneak into the Sunday final but the wins were very marginal for them to overturn their net run rate deficit.
Bujjagali struggled with the bat in the morning game putting on just 88 but Sipi Trekkers connived in throwing away their wickets in the end falling short by 2 runs. Kevin Amuge and Sarah Akiteng were the stars with the ball.
In the afternoon, Immaculate Nakisuyi put on a fine batting display as she helped Bujjagali Rafters score more than 100 runs for the 1st time in the tournament. The Bujjagali Rafters finished on 114 in their 20 overs.
In response, Itanda Kayakers played around with their batting lineup holding back Proscovia Alako but the plan didn’t work as they ended up falling short by 13 runs.
The two wins in the day for Bujjagali Rafters meant they finish with two wins but their poor net run rate had them finish behind both Sipi Trekkers and Itanda Kayakers.
The afternoon final will be contested by Sipi Trekkers and Itanda Kayakers to crown the winner of the Water Falls T20 Women’s edition.
