Matchday 1: Fixtures

  • 9:30am: Sipi Trekkers vs. Itanda Kayakers
  • 2pm: Bujagali Rafters vs. Sipi Trekkers

The men’s edition of the Waterfalls T20 League will bowl off tomorrow at the Lugogo Cricket Oval. The women set a very high standard last week with Sipi Trekkers running away with the title in the final.

The men’s teams have the same names with Kenneth Waiswa leading Sipi Trekkers, Riazat Ali Shah captaining Itanda Kayakers and Brian Masaba leading the Bujjagali Rafters.

There are seven international players that have been invited to be part of the tournament. The contingent from Rwanda has leg spinner Kevin Irakoze, top-order batter Orichide Tuyisenge and left-arm pace bowler Igance Ntireganya. Donnex Kansongho, Blessings Pondani and Sami Sohail flew in from Malawi while Botswana Captain Karabo Mothlanka completes the foreign lineup.

The tournament will start tomorrow with Sipi Trekkers having their double header as they take on Itanda Kayakers in the morning and Bujjagali Rafters in the afternoon. Cricket will be played in the popular T20 format with two games every day.

The blend of talent both local and international should make for exciting cricket as the best players compete amongst themselves.
