Despite sitting second from bottom, Busoga United is optimistic of turning things around as the second round of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League gets underway.

The Jinja based side host Maroons at Fufa Technical Centre, Njeru on Thursday eager to kick off from where they left as the first round climaxed.

They beat Wakiso Giants and reigning champions Vipers SC in that run and want to maintain that.

“We finished the first round in high spirit by beating Vipers SC and we want to build on that,” said assistant captain Laban Tibita.

“They (Maroons) beat us 5-0 in the first round but we have improved since then and understand that only picking up points will lift us from the deep end of the table,” he added.

Both sides are eliminated from the Stanbic Uganda Cup and will fully concentrate on league survival.
