KCCA's Brian Majwega against Wakiso Giants Titus Ssematimba

Wakiso Giants begin life without star-man Ibrahim Kasule when they host KCCA on resumption of the second round of the StarTimes Uganda Premier campaign.

Kasule left in the window for a reported move to Turkey leaving a hole in the dynamic midfield after being involved in eleven goals (5 goals and 6 assists) in the first round.

“We were a little pleased with our performance in the first round. Kasule was one of our best players and although we shall miss him, we can’t use that as an excuse to stop performing,” said Coach John Luyinda.

“We have players within that we feel can replicate what he did in the youngsters Marvin Nyanzi, Marvin Mukiibi and Titus Ssematimba to give us results.”

On the game against the table leaders, Luyinda a former coach at Lugogo is aware of the quality of his opponents.

“We are playing a good side with quality but we have a motivator that we are playing at home where we have done well so and we feel the home crowd will push us.”

Meanwhile, his opposite number Morley Byekwaso knows what a threat the Purple Sharks pose but his side is good enough to overcome them to widen the gap at the summit.

“They are in fourth position and the difference between them and us shows how tough the encounter will be,” he stated.

“We expect a stiff challenge but we believe if we dominate the game in all phases, we shall win.”
