Buddo S.S boys’ 3x3 Basketball team has Gideon Aaron Kuteesa (S2), Ethan Shiima (S2), Elly Mutabingwa (S3) and Herbert Junior Lumansi (S4). The players on the girls’ team include; Elizabeth Nakabugo (S1), Angella Auma (S3), Christine Namyalo (S4) and Happy Daisy Atukunda (S4).
Uganda’s Buddo Secondary School will represent the country at the 2023 Africa 3×3 schools’ basketball championship in Casablanca city, Morocco.
State minister of sports Hon. Peter Ogwang officially flagged off the team of eight players and six officials at the Copper Chimney Restaurant, Kampala on Thursday, February 23, 2023.
Hon. Ogwang was flanked by the chairperson of the National Council of Sports (NCS) Ambrose Tashobya, Commissioner of Physical education and sports Rev. Canon Duncans Mugumya, Justus Mugisha (president of the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association), among others.
He urged the players to remain disciplined and hard-working at all times if they are to realize the true potentiality of their sweat.

Hon. Ogwang lauded Royal Giant High School and Amus College School for the representation at the recently concluded U-15 CAF football competition (CECAFA zone).
He also called upon different stakeholders to join in the development process of sports in Uganda.
The boys’ team has Gideon Aaron Kuteesa (S2), Ethan Shiima (S2), Elly Mutabingwa (S3) and Herbert Junior Lumansi (S4).
The players on the girls’ team include; Elizabeth Nakabugo (S1), Angella Auma (S3), Christine Namyalo (S4) and Happy Daisy Atukunda (S4).
Rev Mugumya will head the entire delegation deputized by Fred Kwizera.
The head coach is John Jevish Omondi and will be helped by Marion Atwegyeise.
Brian Ssebalamu travels to officiate as an umpire and the USSSA publicist Aisha Nakato is the team media officer.
NCS chairperson Tashobya urged the players to represent the country gallantly.
“Go and represent the country gallantly. I pray for all the blessings. I wish you the best of luck” Tashobya stated.
Justus Mugisha, president of USSSA lauded the Government of Uganda through the National Council of Sports for the sponsorship for part of the team to Morocco.
He confirmed that the Royal Kingdom of Morocco will carter for all the in-land transport, feeding and accommodation costs for the entire duration of the tournament.
The team will travel on the morning of Friday, 24th February 2023 aboard Turkish Airlines.
