Overview:

Head coach Tony Peter Lakony is deputized by Bart Munting and former national team player Mariam Nakamanya (second assistant).

The head coach of the Uganda women national volleyball team Tony Peter Lakony named a strong 21-man squad to prepare for the upcoming regional and continental engagements.

Composition:

This squad has five outside hitters, receiver attackers and universal players apiece.

There are four middle blockers and two setters on the team.

The outside hitters include the KCCA duo of Joan Tushemereirwe and Ketty Aluka.

Others are; Moreen Mwamula (OBB), Comfort Twesiime (Sport-S) and Habiba Namala (KCB Nkumba).

Receiver Attackers:

The receiver attackers are; Catherine Ainembabazi (Ndejje University), Diana Assimwe (Sport-S), Scovia Alungat (KCB – Nkumba), Monica Aloyo (KCB – Nkumba) and Eunice Amuron (KCCA).

Middle Blockers:

The middle blockers on the team include Agnes Akanyo (OBB), Jennifer Alungat (KCB – Nkumba), Supernatural Mbakusiimira (KCCA) and VVC’s Scholar Akello.

Universal players:

The five universal players on this squad are; Patricia Musubika (Sport-S), Evas Nayebare (UCU), Margaret Namyalo (KCCA), Mouricia Nabuma (KAVC) and Hadija Otin (OBB).

There are two setters in OBB’s Oliver Acan and Dorren Akiteng (Sport-S).

Technical team:

Head coach Tony Peter Lakony is deputized by Bart Munting and former national team player Mariam Nakamanya (second assistant).

The team shall be training once every week (on Tuesday) at the International School of Uganda (ISU), Lubowa for at least six weeks before the residential camp in May 2023.

The team which last engaged in competitions way back in 2019 will engage in the Africa Zone V All Africa qualifiers.
