Batball Open - Eastern Edition

BatBall junior cricket pathway events (BatBall Open) head to the northern city of Gulu where four (4) locally named teams Ocwak, Agak, Okwik and Tula will compete over two days.

This is the third edition of the BatBall Open after the successful events in the eastern cities of Soroti and Jinja. The two-day event will be hosted at St Joseph’s College Layibi.

The development of the game in Gulu has been an effort of Cricket Without Boundaries and Uganda Cricket Association. Gulu City is slowly rising out of the ruin of a 20-year civil war and cricket offers the community a chance to move forward.

The BatBall events have all been competed in by junior players below the age of 19 and the purpose is to unearth new talent by giving them a platform to showcase their skills.

The winners of each event will meet in a champions league sort of tournament called the Bat Ball X.

The action starts as early as 9:00 am at Layibi with the games ending at 5:00 pm. For those that want to watch, the action is free of charge.
