Liberty Twesiime, the founder of Africa Lacrosse, a platform that has been marketing, promoting and advertising local African content from 2011 acknowledges the fact that he is now living the dream.

The year 2023 will witness an increment of the number of countries in Africa playing Lacrosse from 6 to 11.

Old members include Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa.

The six new members on the team joining World Lacrosse are all West Africans; Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone and Togo.

“The credibility of the sport that we have loved so much over the years is finally taking shape.” Twesiime, an U-19 coach and member of the Uganda national senior team that qualified to the World Cup remarks.

All the literature and news articles in the archives will now start making a lot of sense as many Africans will make it their full time job to reach and surpass them.

 “For me really it has always been about setting the right example for the rest to reflect upon.” He adds.

Technicalities:

Technically, qualifying for African game’s and world games will be harder in future calling for more investment in this area.

This is a task that comes with job avenues that we shall quickly leverage as the top lacrosse nation of Africa.

“Definitely, our former players getting jobs to coach in West Africa is now a top goal.” Twesiime states.

Uganda will be the only African country at the 2023 world games in San Diego California, United States of America (USA), starting this June.
