Uganda Martyrs will seek to close the gap on leaders Kampala Queens as the two face off this Saturday at St. Gerald’s Stadium, Lubaga.
The School side must win to keep the title chance a reality. With Kampala Queens leading by 12 points, this is the realistic chance for the former to close in with six games to the end of the season.
A win for Kampala Queens on Saturday will all but see them clinch the title.
However, they come into this game on the back of a one-all draw against Makerere University last weekend. This was the first time, the Queens of Soccer dropped points this season.
Coach Hamza Lutalo believes Uganda Martyrs will pose a challenge and thus will not take them lightly.
“We are going to face a very tough team. Therefore we have to show full commitment and not under look our opponents.” He said.
His counterpart Edward Kasozi believes winning at She Corporate last Saturday brings confidence to his team going into the game against Kampala Queens.
“The win comes with motivation and thus we go into this game ready and confident to face Kampala Queens.”
The reverse fixture at IUIU Kabojja ended in a 4-1 win for Kampala Queens.
The other fixtures lined up on Saturday will see troubled She Corporate visit UCU Lady Cardinals who equally have blown hot and cold.
The reigning League Champions (She Corporate) are just two points above the drop zone and defeat this weekend could put them in trouble.
Lady Doves host on form Rines in Masindi. The latter have picked seven points out of the possible nine since the start of the second round.
On Sunday, Olila will host resurgent Asubo Gafford Ladies while Kawempe Muslim will face Makerere University.
