Karan Patel and Tauseef Khan have strongly shown their intent to win the second round of the Africa Rally Championship taking place in Voi, Kenya.

Patel in the Ford Fiesta rally5 has dominated the morning loop of day one; clinching three stage wins of the four covered so far.

Even a mishap in stage three did not shake his resolve. After the four stages, Patel posted the quickest time of 54 min 02 seconds.

The Kenyan heads into the second loop with a 32-second lead over young rally star driver Hamza Anwar. Jeremiah Wahome currently sits in third place.

Uganda’s Yasin Nasser and Ali Katumba are holding on to the fourth position throughout the first loop. While his counterpart Jas Mangat finished the loop in sixth position.

Piero Cannobio becomes the first casualty of the event after a broken steering wheel ended his day one contention.

In the second loop, the crews will be making a repeat of the first four stages to end day one of Equator Rally.
