Angu’Deyo takes over baton as Uganda Golf Club Lady Captain

Wendy Angu’Deyo is the new is the new Uganda Golf Club (UGC) Lady Captain for the tenure 2023 – 2025.

She took over the mantle from Grace Kabonero whose term of office officially ended with the 2023 UGC Lady Captain’s prize golf championship.

Angu’Deyo, a vastly experienced consultant in public relations, communications and marketing will be deputized by Eva Araduha.

Rosette Tugume is the Honorary secretary and Bernedette Musanabera is Honorary Treasurer as the other top brass executive committee members.

Female professional Flavia Namakula is the competitions and course secretary.

The rest of the working team will be confirmed in the due course.

Upon being handed over the tools and instruments of power, Angu’deyo vowed to continue with the good deeds of the previous leaders, especially the most immediate Lady captain Kabonero.

I am humbled for this opportunity to serve. I and my executive hope to continue with the legacy set by Grace Kabonero and the other past Lady captains. She (Kabonero) had a good succession plan and we have been working together closely. We want to see more ladies play the game of golf and see that many former lady golfers return. We want to revamp the Friday lady gold nights at Uganda Golf Club, junior programs and caddies. We shall lure as many sponsors and partners on board as well as maintain the good leadership.

Meanwhile, the Kabonero’s farewell Lady prize tournament was well graced with over 200 golfers.

Samson Akankiza (men), Edrae Kagombe (ladies),Tadeo Rodell Gaita Kisembo (professionals), Henry Saleh and Milly Mbabazi (caddies) emerged as the outstanding golfers.

She warmly welcomed the new executive and promised to work closely with them.
