Qatar won by 4 wickets

Cricket Cranes failed to complete a series win in their final ODI against Qatar as they went down by 4 wickets.

The Cricket Cranes won the toss and elected to bat first but failed to pace their innings losing wickets in clusters with no meaningful partnerships to mount a challenge.

The last six wickets for the visitors fell for only 31 runs as the batting collapsed from 124/4 to 155 all out. Third ODI centurion Kenneth Waiswa (31) was the notable contributor with the bat with a couple of starts for Simon Sessazi (29) and Riazat Ali Shah (22).

The hosts never got off to a great start in the chase, but a rare guard resistance sealed the win. 84 runs from Ikramullah Muhamed (39 not out) and Kuram Shazad (45 not out) took the game away to ensure that the series ends in a draw.

Henry Ssenyondo (2/18) has had an outstanding series with the ball continuing to trouble the hosts and he worked well with Alpesh Ramjani (2/34) but wasn’t enough to stop the hosts from claiming a 4-wicket win.

It has been a satisfying series for the Cricket Cranes that ended 2-2 after coming back from losing the opening game to win the 2nd and 3rd ODI to go ahead but couldn’t claim the series honours in the final game.
