The second round of the Autocross and Enduro championship heads to the northern district of Omoro this weekend.
The event is dubbed the Jacob Oulanyah Autocross in commemoration of the late speaker of the Parliament of Uganda a year after his death.
Over 20 crews including Jonas Kansiime, Issah Nyanzi, Ali Omar, and Samuel Watendwa among others.
“We join the country to remember the late Jacob Oulanyah. It was because of him that we got tax exemption for our motocross bikes. He was always a member of the Motorsport fraternity that is why we had to celebrate,” said Tendo Mutale during the launch of the event last week.
The event will start from Gulu district with a drive to the late’s residential village in Omoro district. Road Safety campaigns will be conducted during the drive as they sensitise the public on the importance of safety on the road.
Later on Saturday, Autocross and Enduro race will take place in Omoro.
