On the Buddo Achievers' Day, gifts were given out to the exceling students, old students, teaching and non-teaching staff as a motivational tool.
It was an euphoric moment as Buddo Secondary School celebrated the academic and sporting excellence right from the previous year, 2022.

The school director Lawrence Muwonge lauded the various exceling personalities as a long-term culture at the school, all had to be rewarded at the school premises.

The day-long event started with a mass, proceeded by a few speeches and the rewarding of gifts which were accompanied by cash rewards as well.
“We have had a culture of rewarding the exceling persons over the years as a token of appreciation for the work well done from the previous year (2022). We are rewarding the exceling people to appreciate them for the effort well done and motivate the others” Muwonge revealed.
Exceptional sports personalities and academic giants were among the crop rewarded.
The female 3X3 basketball team that conquered Africa at the recently held Africa basketball championship in Morocco were also given gifts.

Elizabeth Nakabugo (S1), Angella Auma (S3), Christine Namyalo (S4) and Happy Daisy Atukunda all received their gifts of appreciation.
“It is a great feeling to be appreciated at the Buddo S.S Achiever’s Day. We gave our best in Morocco to become African champions. We are humbled for the gifts which further motivate us to perform better” captain Namyalo revealed.
The chief guest David Ssemakula Katende (Assistant general secretary at the National Council of Sports) commended the spirit of rewarding the exceling students in sports, academics as well as the teachers and non-teaching staff.
“The spirit of rewarding the exceling persons in sports and academies will further set the bar and motivate many others” Katende noted.

Katende donated sports gear in football, netball and basketball in form of balls (10 per discipline) as well as the trophies to be competed for internally during the inter-house school competitions.
He also notified that sports will now be compulsory on the circularum for the ministry of education and sports with at least 15 indoor and outdoor sports disciplines to be accommodated per school as a regulation.
The famous school choir entertained the parents and other guests with outspoken songs.
