Overview:
Amputee Self-Help Network Uganda is a non-profit making organization, headed by amputees. It is intended to help amputees have both leg and arms, to heal through psycho social support.
The third edition of the Asnu-Pederine Prosthetic accessibility fundraiser was successfully held by the Amputee Self-Help Network Uganda on 25th March 2023.
A total of eighty kilometres were covered for the entire distance covered from Kampala city to Jinja city.
According to Jared Kalera, a co-director at Amputee Self Help Network Uganda, this prosthetic fund walk-run-cum-ride was organized to raise funds for the disadvantaged children who cannot afford limbs.
We managed to have a very successful event where we had runners, walkers and cyclists from Kampala to Jinja, all to serve the purpose of raising funds for disadvantaged children who cannot afford limbs.

Right from the heart of Kampala city at Post Office, the run, walk and ride event had the final destination at Jinja Post office.
A total of eleven walkers (including three ladies) and 15 cyclists embarked on the journey as early as 5 AM.
The cyclists reached the final destination at 2 PM while those who walked came at 8:30 PM.

The members in this organization are the persons who have lost limbs through road accidents, cancer, landmines and other causes.
The exciting journey from Kampala to Jinja had the riders, runners and cyclists share fond memories as they encountered different people, traversed various places and in a way stimulated domestic tourism.
Remarkable features as Namawojjo market, Mabira forest, River Nile, the Nile bridge and others were eye-catching for the participants.
