Wakiso Giants could be without over ten players as they look to return to winning ways when they host desperate UPDF at Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium, Wakiso.
The Purple Sharks have won none of their last five games in the Premier League and face an uphill task against the army side given they miss several key members of their squad.
According to the club website, Ronald Madoi, Marvin Mukiibi (St. Mary’s Kitende) and Jerome Wamusi (Gombe High School) are representing their schools in the Post-Primary football competitions.
These join injured Moses Aliro, Shariph Kimbowa, Norman Ojik, Apollo Kagogwe and George Kaddu who are injured as well as suspended Ambrose Arinda on the list of absentees.
Tom Masiko admits the absentees will be a big miss but has urged the available players to lift the team.
“It’s absurd that we are going to miss several of our teammates but the onus is on us the available players to do the job, win and bring the pride of the club back on track.”
The Purple Sharks will hope their record against UPDF is maintained as they have won the last four meetings and only dropped points against the army side in a stalemate in the last five meetings.
UPDF who are one slot above relegation are to miss defender Moses Kiggundu who was red carded in the 1-0 win over Soltilo Bright Stars.
