South Africa’s Marumo Gallants staged a comeback to overcome Saint Eloi Lupopo in the final game of Group A of the Caf Confederation Cup.
In the game played at Dobsonville Stadium on Sunday, the Congolese led 2-0 at halftime with goals coming from Allan Kateregga and Horso Mwaku.
However, Marumo Gallants overturned the score with three goals in the second half.
Interestingly, the three goals were scored in a space of five minutes (between the 70th and 75th minute).
Sibusiso Sibeko, Ranga Chivaviro and Judas Mosemeadi scored a goal each for the home side.
The win took Marumo Gallants top of the table in Group A with 12 points, one ahead of USM Alger who also qualified for the quarterfinals.
Saint Eloi Lupopo and Alkhadar from Libya ended the group with five points apiece in third and fourth places respectively.
Ugandan goalkeeper Isma Watenga who plies his trade at Marumo Gallants was an unused substitute in the game.
