They have also upped the conservation strategy after forging the latest partnership with Lukango Tree Conservancy in Buwama along Masaka road.

Africa, in particular, is home to many unique and endangered species, making conservation efforts critical.

The species that were collected from the Lukango conversation hub in Buwama included; Prunus africana (entaseesa), Warburgia ugandensis (mukuzanume),  Afzelia Africana, Afrocarpus usambarensis (kansenene), Khaya anthotheca (mahogany), Khaya grandifoliola (large-leaved mahogany) and Khaya senegalensis (mahogany).

Programs as plogging, waste clearance, setting up nurseries for seedlings in decompostible containers and growing native species at each space are being promoted.

The partnership between LuTreeCo, SportsUganda Ltd UK, and Rhino Athletics Club Uganda is a significant step towards preserving the continent’s natural heritage.

The partnership aims to empower young people to take an active role in the conservation of Africa’s biodiversity, fostering a culture of environmental stewardship and sustainable development.
