Vipers new coach Alex Isabirye registered his first win as the Venoms overcame Blacks Power on Saturday in Kitende.

The game played under the floodlights saw Vipers SC edge Blacks Power 2-0.

This was the first win for Isabirye who joined Vipers from BUL FC last month.

The tactician had taken charge of five games but none had ended in an outright victory for the Venoms.

His first game ended in a one-draw against Wakiso Giants in the Uganda Cup but his charges progressed after winning 4-2 in the penalty shootout.

The next game saw Vipers draw 1-1 against Raja Casablanca before losing 2-0 to Horoya in the CAF Champions League.

Prior to Saturday’s game, Vipers had drawn 2-2 against Maroons in Luzira.

The first league game under floodlights at Kitende saw the Venoms win 2-0 with both goals coming in the first half.

Karim Ndugwa scored the opener in the 9th minute before Martin Kizza doubled the advantage at stroke of halftime.

The aforementioned two players were scoring third first goals in Vipers colours.

The victory sends Vipers to third place on 32 points, two above BUL FC who are fourth.
