MTN championed HIV awareness in Tooro Kingdom through a successful Bicycle Race that was held in Kyenjojo district.

The event attracted a mammoth crowd as the youth displayed a great show of competition through exciting talents that were grouped in both ordinary and sports bike races.

The MTN-sponsored bicycle race also served as a huge reminder to the dwellers of the power of sports in creating awareness for healthy lifestyles and igniting community development.

Innocent Muhenda of Mukunyu was crowned the winner of the ordinary bicycle race. His impressive show saw him pocket a prize of Ugx 500,000 courtesy of MTN.

While in the sports bike race, Job Musinguzi of Kyenjojo Town Council emerged the victor hence bagging a reward of Ugx 400,000.

The display of technique and determination of the riders awed Madina Nabawanuka, the MTN Territory Manager for Mubende and Kyenjonjo who acknowledged Tooro Kingdom for grooming talents among its subjects.

In the same breath, Aggrey Byaruhanga the Regional Marketing Manager revealed that MTN is committed to spur engagement with Tooro Kingdom.

The engagement will witness initiatives such as HIV campaigns and ICT programs and other constructive projects with the kingdom.

Peter Kato Abigaba, Mwenge South County Chief called upon the public to be vigilant with their health by getting tested for HIV and promoting ample ambiences for the growth of the young ones.

According to Micheal Wandera, the Kingdom’s sports minister, the next race will be held in Kitagwenda District on Sunday, June 4, 2023.
