Johnnie Walker Uganda Golf Open 2023 (Pro-Am):

1 – Johnnie Walker II – 115 Points
2 – HH Solutions II – 113 Points
3 – Absa Bank VII – 112 Points
The absa banked sponsored Pro-AM tournament of the 2023 Johnnie Walker Uganda Golf Open championship was successfully held at the par-72 Uganda Golf Club- Kitante, Kampala city on Tuesday, October 24.
The winning team was Johnnie Walker II with a total of 115 points.
This team was constituted of Paul Habyarimana (43), Daniel Kalimuzo (33), Sammy Migunda (26) and the professional Ronald Rugumayo (39).
Rugumayo earned Ug. Shs 3,000,000 for the achievement.

HH Solutions II team came second with 113 points from Michael K. Musiime (44), Bob Matsiko (38), Alex Mango (38) and professional Erneste Ndayisenga from Rwanda (31).
Ndayisenga was rewarded with Ug. Shs 2,500,000.
Absa team VIII was third placed with a total of 112 points.
These came from Henry Mbonye (35), Emma Tayebwa (39), Jimmy Odongkara (35) and the professional David Kamulindwa (38).
Kamulindwa earned Ug. Shs 2,000,000.

Meanwhile, Marvin Kibirige was outstanding professional in the championship with a round 6-under 66. The Entebbe club-based professional believes he will build on the Pro-AM performance for a great tournament that tees off on Wednesday, 25th October 2023.
“It was a great round and I believe I can maintain the form coming to the rest of the four rounds until Saturday” Kibirige stated.

The top ten amateurs in the Pro-Am tournament were; Michael K. Musiime (44), Paul Habyarimana (43), Ivan Arinaitwe (40), Patricia Mbabazi (40), Emma Tayebwa (39), Wendy Angudeyo (39), Michael Tumusiime (38), Alex Mango (38), Bob Matisko (38) and Emmanuel Wamala (38). The outstanding top five professionals were Marvin Kibirige (42), Denis Anguyo (40), Kenyan Edwin Mudanyi (40), Ronald Rugumayo (39) and Namibian Paulino Kasoma (39).
Ten slots (five professionals and amateurs apiece) will be sponsored by absa bank for the 2024 Magical Kenyan open.


Ten countries will take place in the 2023 Johnnie Walker Uganda Professional open that tees off officially on Wednesday, 25th October.
Hosts Uganda has a lion’s share of the professionals. Other countries are Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Nigeria, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malawi.
