Wakiso Giants will be out to end Kitara’s perfect run as they meet in the Uganda Premier League encounter at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium on Wednesday.
The Royals have won all four games played this season thus registering a perfect run.
They come into the game after a 3-1 victory against KCCA FC in a stellar fashion. Kitara FC continues to enjoy its return to the top tier.
Brian Ssenyondo’s troops have put up a remarkable run and most of their fans are starting to believe that they can go all the way to lift the title.
On the other side, Wakiso Giants have had a tough start to the season, losing twice, drawing once, and winning once.
They will come in this duel seeking to return to winning ways as they do all it takes to get their season back on the right track.
In a pre-match conference, Kitara FC captain Maxwell Owachigiu expects a tough challenge since they are playing a team seeking to end an inconsistent run.
“They (Wakiso Giants) will be out to challenge us because they are at home and need to rise to the occasion but we have to be more determined than we were during our last game,”he was quoted by the club’s website.
“Our approach towards the game as well as character must be positive. Our recent really motivated the team but we have to keep calm, discipline, and teamwork on the pitch if we are to maintain this performance,” he added.
Head to Head
The two sides have played two games in the UPL and each has won a piece. Though Wakiso has scored nine goals, four more than the Purple Sharks.
Wakiso Giants’ most recent game ended in a 1-0 loss to URA FC at Metha Stadium in Lugazi on Saturday.
Team News
Solomon Okwalinga and Dudu Ramadhan are out due to injuries. Najib Yiga nears a return and has started his rehabilitation process.
For the Purple Sharks, Andrew Kigozi will be out after suffering a nasty injury in the game against the Tax Collectors.
