KCCA’s search for the season’s first points continues on Thursday evening when they host NEC under new coach Jackson Nelly Magera.
The gaffer was named as interim early this week replacing Portuguese Sergio Traguil who oversaw four matches without picking a point leaving the 13-time champions at the base of the table.
Magera is aware of the task he has inherited and wants a turn of things immediately against Hussein Mbalangu’s men who have had a flying start to the division with three victories out of four games.
“The main target is to see how the club can get out of that situation, and we’re trying as much as we can to see that the players get well mentally, physically and tactically,” Magera told the club media.
“We have to get into our game against NEC well prepared and get the result wanted of us.”
Magera could recall both Moses Waiswa and Derrick Ochan who had fallen out with the Portuguese coach but may be without main striker Muhammad Shaban who is ill.
NEC have experienced heads in Geoffrey Sserunkuma, Allan Mugalu, Rashid Okocha and former KCCA striker Brian Kayanja who can hurt the struggling Kasasiro.
This will be the first competitive meeting between the two sides but they have previously met in a friendly which ended in a draw.
