Brian Ssenyondo returns to Bombo for the first time since leaving the club last season with his Kitara FC side aiming to pick maximum points and trim the gap at the top.
Kitara goes into the game third on the log with 29 points and three points will lift them above second placed Vipers who are not in action and take them with in two points leaders BUL.
BUL were held to a goalless draw at Lugogo on Friday which is a motivational factor for Kitara who believe they have a chance of clinching the league this season.
Ssenyondo doesn’t take UPDF lightly despite the side sitting second from bottom with only nine points.
“We begin the second round with a tricky game against a side that is fighting for their life in the league,” said Ssenyondo.
“They are going to give their all and fight for everything on the pitch but we have made thorough preparations during this short break.
“We’ve had test matches and also strengthened our squad which we feel will match this test and also improve us in the remaining campaign.”
Brian Aheebwa is suspended for the Royals while former UPDF defender Ibrahim Magandaazi and fellow defender David Kasaija are injured.
Defender Samson Kasozi who spent the first half of the season at Kitara could face his bosses while Richard Anyama could debut for Pius Ngabo’s men who added experienced Paul Kiwanuka to the technical staff.
Hot Stat: The three previous meetings between the two sides ended with UPDF on top with two wins against Kitara’s one.
