Africa’s longest river; The Nile remains a treasure, a valuable asset and vital natural resource to all the countries where it majestically and gracefully maneuvers.
From Uganda (source), the Nile drainage basis covers 10 other countries; Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sudan and Egypt, covering an enviable 6650 kilometres.
This water resource supports agriculture, fishing, tourism, hydro electricity generation and is a primary water source for Egypt, Sudan and South Sudan.
Given the enormous value of River Nile, all efforts undertaken to jealously protect and conserve this water resource are always welcome and appreciated.
Upon this rich background, the annual Nile Golf Cup is one of the initiatives, among others that have been undertaken to protect and conserve the Nile.

Jinja Golf Club, one unique golf course that is seated on the source of River Nile is at the helm of the Nile Golf Cup.
For the fourth edition, the Nile Golf Cup will take center stage on Saturday, 24th February 2024 at this 9-hole golfing facility.
The golfing fraternity is keen and eager to take part in this championship that will be played on a medal format.
Golfers from several Uganda’s golf clubs as Jinja, Mehta (Lugazi), Kampala, Entebbe, Lake Victoria Serena Resort & Spa, Palm Valley, Namulonge, Mbale, Lira, Arua, Mbarara, Kabale and others will take part.
These will be joined by the visiting delegation from the neighboring Kenya.

The excitement is soaring as 20 Kenyan golfers gear up to raid Jinja for the fourth edition of the Nile Golf Cup. The event is focuses on advocating for conservation of River Nile through partnerships with different corporate companies.
Besides the trophies and other goodies, the overall winner shall smile home with a return ticket to Nairobi or Dubai courtesy of Uganda Airlines.
Registration (green fees) are fixed at $15 (at least Ug.Shs 57,000).
