Viane Ssekajugo scored the solitary goal as URA FC overcame struggling UPDF FC to clinch maximum points on Tuesday.

In the game played at Mehta Stadium in Lugazi, the Tax Collectors fought hard to earn victory.

Ssekajugo headed home at the hour mark, jumping high to connect to Laban Tibiita’s well delivered corner kick.

This is the first time that URA FC has managed to register back to back wins. It should be noted that they edged Gaddafi FC in Jinja last week with an identical result.

Coach David Obua made two changes from the team that had started against Gaddafi with Godfrey Ssekibengo and Moses Aliro starting ahead of Hassan Kalega and Ronald Andabati respectively.

UPDF competed for the larger part of the game and actually had two attempts in the first half but they were denied on both occassions by goalkeeper Denis Omedwa.

The important moment for the Tax Collectors arrived at the hour mark when Ssekajugo dashed to the middle and headed home from Tibiita’s corner kick.

The Tax Collectors eventually held on to secure all three points.

Victory takes URA FC to sixth position on 27 points while UPDF remain second from bottom on nine points.
