BUL FC maitained their grip at the top of the table after securing a hard-fought win over Soltilo Bright Stars FC on Wednesday.
In the game played at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru, Soltilo Bright Stars led 1-0 at halftime but the home side recovered to score twice in the second stanza.
Shafik Kakande opened the scores in the 42nd minute, firing home from close range after Nelson Senkatuka released him.
However, a rejuvinated performance after recess saw BUL level matters through defender Walter Ochora who jumped high to head home from Jerome Kirya’s well delivered free kick in the 54th minute.
15 minutes later, Kirya got onto the score sheet after a goalkeeping howler by Hassan Matovu who failed to deal with the former’s seemingly feeble shot.
Victory means BUL FC remain top of the pile on 37 points, five ahead of Kitara FC who have a game in hand.
Soltilo Bright Stars FC on the other hand remain ninth on the table with 21 points.
