Champions Vipers host Gaddafi under the floodlights in their opening game of the first round targeting maximum points to trim on BUL’s lead at the summit.

The hosts missed out on day one as they were scheduled to take on suspended Arua Hill which was later disqualified from the top division.

With two games in hand over table leaders BUL, a win against the Jinja army side will close the gap at the summit to just four points.

Yunus Sentamu, Milton Karisa, Allan Okello and company are all available for selection but Jack Komakech and Fabien Mutombora are out as they undergo rehabilitation.

Gaddafi have won just once in their last five games and will have to triple effort if they are to leave Kitende with a point.

Elsewhere on Thursday, Maroons host Wakiso Giants with either side aiming to return to winning ways after faltering on the last match day.

The Purple Sharks are still entangled in a relegation battle sitting just one point above the drop zone but Maroons are safe and chasing top positions.

At the moment, they are 5th with 28 points and victory could even lift them to 3rd place if Vipers falter.
