Sports Club Villa salvaged a point late in the game against Kitara as the two sides faced off on Friday at Masindi Stadium.
Kitara had taken the lead through Brian Aheebwa but Patrick Kakande scored towards the end of the game hence the game ending in a one-all draw.
Villa were competitive throughout the game and actually had the ball into the back of the net in the 54th minute through Charles Lwanga put his effort was ruled out for a foul on the goalkeeper.
Aheebwa broke the deadlock in the 57th minute, tapping from close range after goalkeeper Meddie Kibirige spilled the ball into his path.
Cyrus Kibande’s indecisiveness saw Jude Ssemugabi regain the ball to shoot at goal only for Kibirige to parry the ball towards a waiting Aheebwa.
Ronald Ssekiganda was denied by the crossbar with his strike glancing off as SC VIlla searched for the equalizer.
It eventually came six minutes from time when Kakande’s strike from a distance went beyond Crispus Kusiima.
The result means Kitara FC remain second on the table on 33 points, four behind leaders BUL FC while Villa stay put in fourth place on 30 points.
