2nd T20: Sri Lanka Development v Uganda

  • Sri Lanka Development 169/6
  • Uganda 165/5

Sri Lanka Development won by 4 runs.

Cricket Cranes might have been on the wrong end of the result going down by 4 runs to Sri Lanka Development in Galle but there was a lot of improvement in the performance from the 87 allout yesterday.

The visitors won the toss and elected to bowl first but there were no inroads early on with the wickets coming later with Kenneth Waiswa (3/32) the stand-out bowler in a great shift that limited the home side to 169/6 in their 20 overs.

In response, Simon Ssesazi and Roger Mukasa got stuck in before a run out put an end to their partnership with 44 runs on the board. A 71-run partnership between Kenneth Waiswa (50) and Dinesh Nakrani (41) kept the game balanced until the departure of the former.

Cricket Cranes ran out of resources with four runs still required for the win and the visitors were on the wrong side of the result but a proud performance from the team.

It was the second defeat in Sri Lanka for the Cricket Cranes but with as many as five games still to play, there is still a lot of work to do on the training tour.

The team takes a break tomorrow and will be back in action on Friday.
