BUL Football Club majestically progressed to the round of 32 for the 50th Stanbic Uganda Cup.
The Jinja city based entity who won this championship in 2022 overcame Buganda regional side Simba 3-0 during the round of 64 duel at the Namulonge playground, Wakiso district on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.
Midfielder Ibrahim “Ceaser” Kazindula, defender Walter Ochora and forward Alex “Benzema” Kitata found the goals in varying fashion for Abbey Bogere Kikomeko’s coached side.
Kazindula volleyed home on the stroke of half time to break the resilience from the home side.

10 minutes into the second half, Ochora headed home off Jerome Kirya’s inviting corner kick.
The third goal arrived in the added minutes of normal time after Kitata rounded off the advancing goalkeeper Hamza Lutaaya before slotting the ball into an empty net to galvanize the icing on the already baked cake.
Kitata had moments earlier replaced the hard-working forward Gerald “Mwenda” Ogwetti in the 70th minute.
BUL will now take on Kyambura Rasters in Rubirizi district this Sunday, 18th February 2024 during the round of 32 duel.
“We approached the game maturely. With patience, we broke them (Simba) and scored. I laud the players for the work done” Kikomeko told the media in the post-match interview.
His opposite charge, Alex Gitta Mulibanga at Simba attributed the loss to “childish mistakes”.
“Football is a game when blunders made are punished by the opponent. My players made childish mistakes and this is how we lost the game. Focus will now remain on how we play in the league (Buganda region – Ssezibwa group) and qualify for the betPawa FUFA Big League” Gitta noted.
Meanwhile, Express progressed to the round of 32 at the expense of North Eastern regional side, MYDA.
The Red Eagles won narrowly, 1-0 at the intimidating Kongunga playground in Bukedea for the precious away result.
