50th Stanbic Uganda Cup (Round of 32):

  • Rugarama 1 (4) – 1 (5) Vipers
  • Busei 0-3 Police
  • Mbogo United 2 (1) – 2 (3) Young Simba

Vipers Sports Club, Police Football Club and Young Simba qualified to the round of 16 stage for the 50th Stanbic Uganda Cup.

This followed victories for these three clubs during their round of 32 on Thursday, 15th February 2024.

Police humbled hosts Busei 3-0 at the Iganga Ssaza grounds with Isaac Ogwang’s brace and Gabriel Eragu on target.

Holders Vipers needed a post-match penalty victory to eliminate Rugarama 5-4 after normal time had ended 1-goal apiece on a slippery Rugarama playground in Ntungamo after heavy rains.

Allan Okello scored the winning penalty in the tense shoot-out.

Young Simba also won 3-2 in post-match penalties after normal time had ended 2-all with Mbogo United.

The Stanbic Uganda Cup winner is assured of a slot to the CAF Confederation Cup.

Since inception of this knock out tournament in 1971, the championship has grown in popularity, magnitude and stature.

The tournament is played by clubs from all corners of the country, in varying divisions.
