TY Omujuma (the TY stands for “Ttiimu Y’ensi”) will be hoping that the second time is the charm as they managed to get themselves into their second consecutive final of the Ntare Lions League.

The result might not tell the whole story but Omujuma needed to take care of their result and hope that Machando doesn’t match or get a better result for them to be in the final. The gods of the day were with Omujuma as they took Nshimba to Mukono putting five goals past the party spoilers while Kachanchali did Omujuma a favour by condemning Machando to a defeat.

Omujuma lost in the final in Jinja last year to SC Kalele after being the dominant team throughout the season and this time there is less pressure on them with Nshera FC the unbeaten side in the regular season.

Nshera FC, two-time winners of the Lions League, are into their 5th final and will be hoping that the trip to Kigali is worthwhile. Nshera FC has dominated the season and comes into the final without suffering loss throughout the whole season which puts pressure on them in the shoot-out final. Three-time winners surely will sound better than two-time winners for a team that is known for bringing the vibes on and off the field.

The Ntare Lions League finale heads to Kigali for its 14th edition as the league celebrates ten years since its inception. The finale is a celebration of the whole season with a crowning moment for the best cohort in a football season that is always bruising.

Abashweki have won the league a record three times but Nshera will join that A-list club if they can win in Kigali. The weekend of the finale will be March 7th -11th.

The tour itinerary will start with Old Boys visiting the newly constructed Ntare School in Rebero on Friday (March 8th) and conclude with a dinner. The other activities include a cricket game between the OBs at the IPRC Cricket Ground, a CSR activity in the community, and a visit to the genocide memorial in Kigali. The main event, the grand finale, will be on Saturday (March 9th) at the IPRC Stadium in Kigali.

The Ntare Lions League brings together old boys from Ntare School who come together and play in different teams with most of the team names coming from their school slang.
