Uganda Premier League outfit NEC FC made light work of Northern Regional League side Acholi United as the two teams faced off in the round of 32 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
In the game played on Tuesday at MTN-Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, NEC FC eased to a 5-1 win.
On form Joseph Dhata orchestrated the damage on the visitors, bagging a hat trick on the day.
The other goals for NEC FC came from captain Marvin Kavuma and Gaddafi Wahab. David Otim got the consolation for Acholi United FC.
Dhata opened the scoring as early as the 12th minute and this set the tone for the rest of the game that was one-sided.
He got his second six minutes later before Wahab and Kavuma added a goal each as NEC FC led 4-0 at the break.
After recess, the visitors pulled one back through Otim in the 52nd minute but Dhata completed his hat trick minutes later with a thunderous strike from distance.
NEC FC join Vipers SC, Express FC, BUL FC, SC Villa, Busoga United FC, Soltilo Bright Stars FC, Young Simba FC, KCCA FC, Pajule Lions FC, Kitara FC, Iganga Young FC, Dove FC and Police FC at the round of 16.
Two slots are still up for grabs with Calvary hosting URA FC while Pakwach Young Stars FC will take on Wakiso Giants FC.
