Mbarara City FC could be having a start-stop campaign in the League this season but one thing has at least been kept constant, and that is their performance at home.

Besides, the 2-1 loss to NEC FC in the first game of the season, the Ankole Lions have not suffered defeat at Kakyeka Stadium.

In that run, Mbarara City FC has played nine games, winning five and drawing the other four.

On Thursday, Mbarara City overcame Busoga United thanks to a solitary goal from Edward Namasa who scored from a rebound after the visitors failed to clear Sadiq Ssekyembe’s delivery from a corner in the 14th minute.

The result takes Mbarara City to 11th place on 20 points while Busoga United drop to the relegation zone on 15 points.

In the other game played on Thursday, Soltilo Brights Stars and Express FC played out a one-all draw at Kavumba Recreation Ground.

Isaac Wagoina gave the Red Eagles the lead, converting from the spot two minutes after halftime but the hosts were able to salvage at least a point with substitute Ashiraf Mulindi finding the equalizer five minutes from time.

Bright Stars remain 10th on the table on 21 points, two slots and four points behind Express FC.
