Abbey Bogere Kikomeko addresses the media during his unveiling ceremony

Friday fixtures

  • Maroons vs BUL – Prisons Grounds, Luzira 4pm
  • KCCA vs Kitara – MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo 7pm

BUL could complete a double over tricky Maroons if they overcome the Prison Warders at Luzira on Friday.

The table leaders have an opportunity to open a seven-point gap over closest chasers Kitara who play KCCA in the late kick off at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo.

Abbey Kikomeko’s men have been dominant in this fixture and won the reverse one easily as they trounced Maroons 3-0 at the Fufa Technical Centre in Njeru.

However, Kikomeko doesn’t expect an easy ride at Luzira against a very good team that are usually hard to beat at home.

“Maroons are a very good team and everyone at the club – including players and coaches all know that,” said Kikomeko.

“They are stronger at home than they are away, and they have got the tools that can hurt us. So we know that they are a side that can prove dangerous as they have demonstrated it throughout the season,” he added.

The visitors are without key players Nicholas Mwere (suspension), Douglas Muganga and Reagan Kalyowa (injuries).

BUL come into the game on the back of wins over Rugarama Masters in the Uganda Cup and Bright Stars in the league but have won just two league games in the last five.

Meanwhile, Maroons are without winger Darius Ojok who is with the national U-20 team but in Fred Amaku, Abraham Tusubira and company, they have enough in their attacking force to deny the Jinja based team.

Hot Stat: BUL has won 8 of the last 11 league meetings between the two sides [L2, D1].
