5th AGM for Uganda Modern Pentathlon at Uganda Olympic Committee

It is with great pleasure to report to you that we have been able to achieve several successes locally and internationally. We participated in a UIPM sponsored Pentathlon World Cup in March (2023), a CAPM sponsored African / Oceania Championship and Biathle / Triathle championships in Cairo and Alexandria Egypt in September (2023) and the West African Laser Run / Biathle and Triathle in Ivory Coast in the under 11 and under 13 age groups. Locally we have been able to organize a Laser Run at Kabojja International School, a Global Laser Run City Tour (GLRCT) at Kyambogo University, and the last phase at Entebbe Lake Victoria School. We are also glad to report that our partnership with the Egyptian Modern Pentathlon Federation (EMPF) is working out well, thus we have been able to benefit from their in-kind support in terms of accommodation, feeding and training opportunities, without which it would have been extremely difficult for us to afford those costs and we thank them immensely. We would also like to appreciate greatly, the UIPM for always supporting us with air-tickets and accommodation too because some championship costs are bone by them otherwise, the support we get from the Uganda Olympic Committee wouldn’t be enough to cater for all the above activities but it still goes a long way in helping us meet our obligations. All this international support is a result concerted and effective negotiations and lobbying.

The federation was represented by two senior athletes at the Africa/Oceania Pentathlon Championship and Uganda emerged third.

This year’s focus is more on capacity building and development of the sport in different regions as required by the new Sports Bill as the federation seeks for recognition.
