Wednesday Results
- NEC 0-3 KCCA
Muhammad Shaban capitalized on loose defending from NEC to score twice in the first half as KCCA beat the hosts in the Lugogo derby 3-0 on Wednesday.
First, he got on a loose clearance from Ibrahim Kiyemba to stab home the opener in the 10th minute and then stole Sulaiman Ssesazi’s back passes to get the second goal four minutes to the break.
Unfortunately, he was subbed at halftime after suffering a head injury and got booked in the fracas which means he will miss the trip to Kitende on March 15.
Nevertheless, Ashraf Mugume put the icing on the cake making a late run behind the NEC defence getting on the brilliant splitting pass from man of the match Brazilian Jao Gabriel.
KCCA are now on 26 points, in ninth position while NEC stay 4th with 31 points.
Both teams will turn focus to the Stanbic Uganda Cup where KCCA visit URA next week while NEC will take on Busoga United in the round of 16 clashes.
