The Uganda Woodball Federation (UWbF) has packaged and planned a detailed menu of activities for the year 2024.
These activities were fully endorsed by the recently held annual general assembly on 16th February.
They range from capacity building clinics, workshops and retreats, domestic competitions to international championships.
February had the annual congress, 11th annual awards gala, national referees’ refresher course and the first beach woodball circuit.
March:
The first corporate woodball circuit will be held on 3rd March at MUBS playground in Nakawa.
To celebrate the International women’s day, the women’s day woodball championship will take place on 8th March 2024 at Lubiri Nabagereka primary school.
The Soroti woodball clinic will be held between 8th to 10th March 2024. On 15th March 2024, there will be the Buganda schools woodball championship and the month will be climaxed by the PLOW league stroke competition on 23rd March at Uganda Prisons, Luzira.
April:
The month of April will commence with the 13th Ndejje University woodball championship on 6th at Ndejje University main campus.
During the following day (7th April), there will be the PLOW league stroke competition.
Across all the districts of Uganda, there will be the ICPAU juniors woodball qualifiers between 6th and 28th April.
13th April 2024 will be the Board land board national woodball league first outing with the second outing coming on 27th April at the University of Kisubi.
The second corporate woodball circuit will come on 20th April 2024 at Bugema University.
May:
The month of May has the woodball capacity building training, third Buganda land board national league, 2nd beach woodball circuit and Uganda Woodball Federation players’ symposium.
In June, there will be the PLOW league stroke competition, 14th ICPAU national juniors woodball championship in Lwengo district on 14th to 15th June, 3rd corporate woodball circuit and a woodball capacity building training.
July (5th to 7th) will have the second Taifa woodball championship at mount Kenya university.
In the same month, there will be the first, second and third national team trials.
The USSSA national ball games II will take place between 15th to 21st July at Teso college Aleot.
21st July is the day designated for the president’s cup 2024.
August has the fourth Corporate woodball circuit, national woodball league, third beach woodball circuit and PLOW league stroke competition at Kyambogo university.
September 2024 has the national woodball league round 2, national woodball league finals on 14th, 7th Kenya International woodball championship in Thika (19th to 22) and the fifth corporate woodball circuit.
In October 2024, the 13th Uganda open woodball championship will happen in Soroti (4th to 6th), 9th World Cup woodball championship (Shaoxing city, China) and the 4th beach wooball circuit at Kalanoga resort beach, Busabala.
November 2024 has a woodball capacity building training in Hoima, the PLOW league stroke competition, inter-university woodball tournament, 6th corporate woodball circuit, IWbF general assembly 23rd to 24th in Taiwan and the 12th annual awards gala on 29th November.
