Uganda Rugby Union is sending seven players to South Africa for a high-performance training program.

The seven players, from the contracted Rugby Cranes squad, are Santos Senteza, Ivan Kabagambe, Faragi Odugo, Eliphaz Emong, Byron Oketayot, Sydney Gongodyo, and Conrad Wanyama.

The training programme will be conducted by the Blue Bulls Rugby Union at their base in Pretoria. Plans were concluded when Blue Bulls president Willem Strauss visited Uganda Rugby Union in November last year.

Blue Bulls is one of the biggest provincial unions in South Africa whose franchise team Bulls is the most successful in the country.

The program is expected to be concluded mid-year in June which means the players are likely to miss the ongoing championship but they will be available for the Rugby Africa Cup.

Although departure has been postponed for a couple of weeks as the union finalises preparations for their departure, clubs like Hippos, Heathens, and Kobs have already bid farewell to their respective players.
