Kutchi Tigers climbed to the top of the Premiership table after a 26-run win against Tornado Bee at the Lakeside Oval in Entebbe.

The rain affected game was reduced to 27 overs a side with the favourites coming out on top in the short game. Youngster Gerald Olipa’s half century (53) was in vain as Tornado Bee failed to chase down the small total.

Tornado Bee are still searching for their maiden win of the season while Kutchi Tigers keeps its unbeaten record with a perfect three out three this season.

Meanwhile, Wanderers picked up their second win of the season against a tough opponent Ceylon Lions in Lugogo.

Wanderers came into the game in high spirits after picking up their first win of the season against Patidar and an improved performance with the bat helped them post a competitive 209 in 39 overs.

Mohammed Shaf picked a wicket off the first ball of the run chase and that set the tone for Ceylon Lions who failed to recover from that position eventually bundled out for 139.

Wanderers picked their second consecutive win of the season that pushes them into the mid table.

In Jinja, JACC shocked Rounders with the matchday squad with the inclusion of players such as Kenneth Waiswa, Sadam Oyaga, Marvin Kitamirike and Abdallah Ssezoba. The big names together with the youngsters delivered the results as JACC picked up two wins against Rounders. The result dents Rounders chances of gaining promotion to the top flight especially the result coming against an opponent they were expected to defeat.

Soroti City lost one and won the other against Tornado in Jinja. Soroti lost the morning game against Tornado but recovered in the afternoon to win the second game of the day.

Soroti City stay at the top of the Championship table. They are four points ahead of Avengers but have two games more than their closet rivals.

The top 2 teams at the end of the season in the championship will gain promotion to the premiership.
