  • World Rugby HSBC 7s Challenger 2024 Montevideo – Round One
  • Result: Uganda 17-14 Germany

Uganda Men needed a flawless second half to come back against Germany and win their first match during the World Rugby HSBC 7s Challenger 2024 in Montevideo, Uruguay.

They had quickly gone down 14-00 in the first half in what looked like déja vu against Germany who have always broken Uganda’s hearts.

Three tries in the second half sealed Uganda’s comeback successfully. Nobert Okeny, Adrian Kasito, and Pius Ogena touched down. Denis Etwau converted the first try as Philip Wokorach missed the rest.

Ogena’s try was scored in the very last play of the match after a nailbiting fourteen minutes.

The next match will be against the hosts Uruguay at 2.32 a.m. on Saturday morning.
