Overview:

URA are unbeaten in 11 home league games against BUL

Friday Fixtures @ 4pm

  • URA vs Kitara – Mehta Grounds, Lugazi
  • Maroons vs Kitara – Prisons Grounds, Luzira
  • Bright Stars vs Mbarara City – Kavumba Recreation Ground

URA coach David Obua has advised his lads to forget about their Stanbic Uganda exit and focus on beating BUL to join the title race.

The two sides face off at the Mehta Grounds, Lugazi where the tax collectors are unbeaten in the league this season.

Seated in 7th place with 30 points, a win will bring them within five points of second placed BUL who are winless away from home in the second round.

“We have moved on from the disappointing cup exit and now focusing on the league,” said Obua. “Of course, we are further behind on the table but we still harbor belief that if we win our games, we are in the race and want to compete as URA,” he added.

“We expect a tough game against a highly motivated side that is defensively organised but we shall have to attract them to the ball for spaces.”

Abbey Kikomeko, the man in charge of BUL was in the stands on Monday watching his opponents against KCCA and knows a thing or two about the men in yellow and blue.

“They play good football just like we do and so it will be tough especially playing them at their home,” he said. “But we go there with belief and confidence and the best team on the day will probably win which is us,” he added.

Bruno Bunyaga and Innocent Kisolo are out with the national U-20 team in Accra, Ghana for the All-African Games while BUL are without Douglas Muganga while Alex Kitaata is doubtful but Reagan Kalyowa is back in the team.

BUL won the reverse fixture 1-0 in a game their goalie Tom Ikara was voted man of the match and have never won away at URA in eleven meetings.
