Uganda Women have concluded Day One of the World Rugby HSBC 7s Challenger 2024 Montevideo leg with a clean sheet. They walloped Mexico, 48-07, to go unbeaten at the Estadio Charrua.

Uganda scored eight tries through Ritta Nadunga, Peace Lekuru (2), Lydia Namabiro, Racheal Mufuwa (2), Grace Nabaggala, and Agnes Nakuya. Nabaggala converted fifty per cent of the tries.

Alessandra Bender scored Mexico’s consolation points (try and conversion).

The two wins mean Uganda is on top of Pool C with six points. It also means Uganda has qualified for the Cup Quarterfinals with a match to spare.

The final pool match, to determine who goes through as the top seed, will be on Day Two against Argentina. It will kick off at 5.37 p.m. EAT.
